*Currently I am working for ACD Direct. I finished my training with them on June 2, 2008. This is a great company.
This company handles taking pledge calls for Television Broadcasts as well as radio station broadcasts. As we have mentioned in the past any company asking you for money is not usually a good choice and this is where many people may walk away from ACD. Yes, they do require a $30 background fee that you must pay via paypal. The fee is 100% legit. You will entering the callers information into their system so they need to make sure you will not be commiting any fraud.
Training normally lasts about 3days for 3 hrs each day.
The scheduling flexibility here is wonderful, because if you’re like me and have small kids you can pick up your shifts one minute before they are due to begin, so you can work when the munchkins are napping or basically when you have some time. And even if you are not scheduled to work you can always sign in to work, although the call flow may not be much as you are considered back up help.
The pay structure is per minute of talk time. The rates start at 0.15 cents per talk time minute and they increase as your talk time does. If you’re bilingual you also get a higher rate.
Once you complete your training you are assigned to a team. You team leader assists you in getting trained for more gates to receive more calls and when you’re working they have a wonderful system in place so that you always have access to someone right away should you encounter any issues.
You must have a reliable computer, a corded land line phone with noise reducing headset. You must be able to be online and talk at the same time so DSL or Cable are a must.
They did take some time to get back to me after I applied but It was worth the wait.
Apply at : www.acddirect.com
Should you have any questions pls post them in the comments section and I will be glad to answer them as to the confidentiality terms permit me to.

Hello nodaycare2 , i’m hoping you can give me some info . I applied with acd direct and would like to know if they would hire people outside the U.S.A ? Also , i can use a Voice-over-Internet protocol telephone .
What does the interview consist of?
Thanks
No ACD is not currently hiring anyone who does not reside in the US. You must live in the the US and have a valid permit to work. Also for all customer service jobs you must have a separate landline. No VOIPs are allowed as they work through your internet connection and if that fails you will loose calls.
The interview process is really easy. Someone calls you and asks you about your computer system and how you have your office/workspace set up. Then they ask you a few questions about you to see if you will work out for them. Once you have been accepted somone will schedule training and you will get your user IDs and passwords after succesfully completing training.
I have found a couple of texting jobs that do not require you to live in the US. Where are you located maybe I can find jobs for you where you are located. I wil post the job leads that I have shortly.
Your very welcome. I just posted a review for ChaCha.com. You may be able to work for them. The pay is not the greatest but you dont looke anything by applying and seeing how it goes. Here are more textingjob sites. I will post separate reviews for them as well.

I just thought of something, if you have a US based account the customer service companies may hire you as most of them do pay via direct deposit. However you will defenitely need a landline not VOIP.
Thanks for the feedback. I forgot to mention that i am a U.S citizen and have my SS# , i’m in Dominican Republic maybe for 7 or 8 more month but i guess since i’ll be working with a VOIP no can do.
But Please sent me the sites that you know and feel free to use my email.
By the way great job posting your answer so soon i appreciate it. Thank You.
Hey nodaycare2 , what does it mean Screenshot all log in results to your Trainer?
Im not sure where you saw that but basically what that means is that after you log in to whereever it is that you will be login in, you will need to copy and paste the screen that you see and e-mail it to your trainer. To copy and paste your screen you will be on the screen and then press the Prt Scrn key on your keyboard, then you go to the e-mail message and in the body you right click ur mouse and select paste or you can also press down the control key and press the letter V to copy the screen onto the body of the e-mail. You will see the picture of the screen in the e-mail and send it over.
Hi, just wondering what the average amount of hours I can expect to work per week with ACD. I didn’t want to waste my time or money with them if they didn’t have a decent amount of hours that I could work. Thanks!
They have alot of shifts available and you get the opportunity to pick them up early. Like they say the early bird gets the worm. There are times when shifts are low because they do have pledge months in which they need more agents to be logged in than others. I know that for the holiday season they will have alot of shifts coming up. My only suggestion is go ahead and apply, once you’re done with training try to pick up your shifts as soon as they are available. Normally you get an e-mail message to let you know that they have posted new shifts. So you can easily average 40 hrs plus per week. Keep in mind thoughm although you schedule yourself for 40 hrs a week, it does not mean that you will have 40 hrs worked of talk time. Remember ACD pays per talk time minute. When the pledge drives are slow, you may accululate less talk time minutes then what you scheduled yourself to work for, while if pledge drives are high, you may get an extra minute or two per hour. It all depends on the drives and how many calls are coming in. Hope this helps you make a decision.
ACD pays you per month on the 1st of the month. I have not been picking up any shifts at all since I started and I have basically been making about $20 per month. This is because I also work for Coast2Coast Chat and this is my main focus for right now. I do intend on picking up more shifts with ACD to make more money when I have down time from Coast which I doubt will happen. But if you would like to figure out how much you can average take the amount that they pay per minute which I believe is 18 cents per talk time and multiply it by the amount of hours you’re interested in working.
Example:
40 hrs of talk time = 2400 minutes of talk time
2400 minutes times 18 cents= $432 a week
Again, keep in mind that ACD pays per talk time minute. If you work an hour, which is 60 minutes and call volume is low, it does not mean that you will have accumulated 60 minutes of paid talk time. There have been instances in which in an hour I may have only received one call that lasted 7 minutes. That means that for that hour of me being logged in to work I only got paid for 7 minutes.
Hey, ur at home, u could be surfing the net and doing things unrelated to work so, keep this in mind.
Making money is feasible with this company.
Also, since they have a great communication system in place, if there are calls in queue and they need more agents they will send out a message and you can log in to work even if you’re not scheduled to work, so this raises your earnings potential.
One of my co-workers told me she averages $1500 every 2 weeks. That means that she is putting in the time.
Thanks for the advice! If you don’t mind me asking, about how much $$ did you average per week?
Thanks! Have you heard of contractxchange.com? I’m thinking about applying there, seems pretty lucrative, but I’m hesitant about paying for training. Do you know of any at home jobs that pay well and doesn’t require phone time? I’m homeschooling my children and would like something where I don’t have to worry about the noise level from my children.
Someone had asked me about ContractXchange and here is what I wrote on my blog of work from home companies.
“I have never heard of this people but I registered to look around and get more info for you. I don’t think that the fact that in order to get hired you have to take a training course that you have to pay for which costs $75 is a good sign. If a company like Sears is hiring is best you go directly to them and skip this middle man. I cant say 100% that this may be a scam to make $75 out of you but for example. Staples hires people to work from home. I went to their website, click on career used the keyword HOME without City and State and voila I got job listings for work at home agents. Uhaul is another company that hires people to work from home. I also saw of this ContractXchange site the Home Shopping network, I suggest you go directly to the home shopping network site and do a job search, they also have opportunities to work at home without having to pay this fee. Looks to me like Contract Xchange may be using these big company names to get people to sign up for their training course. In my experience you don’t need a training course to work from home all you need is to have previous customer service experience, a reliable computer and a landline. The people unlike careerbuilder do not let you move forward until you pass their course. I guess this decision lies in the hands of the person willing to pay. As for me. I would not pay as I am currently taking calls for ACD and soon to Westat. I am waiting on Staples to get back to as I applied with them. I will keep you posted.”
Coast2Coast Chat is a good place, just keep in mind that it is adult content. Please look at my review on Coast2Coast.
Thanks for the info! It does make sense to bypass the middle man.
If anyone is looking for a good paying work from home job, please look into VIPDESK.COM. Although they pay by the minute, they give a minimum of $400 (minimum of 25 hours/wk) if you don’t make your scheduled hours. They don’t tell you this during the interview; I believe it’s to weed out applicants. There is a down side: there are 2 weeks of unpaid training but you do get a small “bonus” if you successfully complete the training. They sell high end clothing for companies like bluefly.com. I quit because I just don’t have a “passion for fashion” and they require you to know latest trends and be familiar with all of their merchandise so that you can “upsell”. Just not my cup of tea! But if anyone out there loves fashion, this is a great gig.
I believe you can work for both companies as they do not do the same thing. If they were doing the same type of calls then you would not be able to work for both of them at the same time. ACD handles pledge calls and the work is seasonal, which basically means that you can remain active with them so long as you work 4 shifts in a quarter, however there will be quarters where it will be really slow and you may not make as much money as you would during peak months when they have the most drives.
I am so glad that I found this site. Thank you to all of you that have posted on here. I just received an invite to interview with ACD Direct after several months of waiting. I also was offered a position with Teletech@home but I am not sure if I am allowed to work both jobs due to Teletech’s non compete laws. Does anyone know If I can work for both companies? Also is work with ACD Direct seasonal or is it permanent employement?
Thanks for any responses.
Milan
Thank you so very much for such a quick response and for the information. I have an interview this evening : ) Right now I am just trying to figure out how to make a screen shot of the question and answer email from ACD and then insert the answers to the questions within the box in the email. Do you have any sugesstions on how this is done? Again Thank you so much for answering my questions.
nodaycare2 the new rule for ACD is 4 shifts PER MONTH, not per quarter.
Thank you Anon for the info, the e-mail I read said 4 per quarter, I will review my e-mails and confirm this.
Milan, to do a screen shot basically go to the screen that you want to copy, press the Prt Scrn button your keyboard, then go to the body of the e-mail and click to place the cursor in the e-mail,then press control V, this should copy the screen to the e-mail. Sometimes services like yahoo or hotmail do not copy the screen when you press control V, you can do it on word instead, save it to your computer and attach the word document to the e-mail instead. Hope this helps.
ACD Direct is currently hiring again. There have been many changes including a more contractor friendly pay scale! Come check us out!
ACD Direct is coming up on their peek season for 2011.. Go ahead and apply, they are responding extremely quickly….
